Pedal-Topia 2021 Rocked!
Pedal-Topia 2021 Recap
“The weather cooperated. The team was tremendous. The ride was beautiful. The event was uplifting.”
-2021 Rider
Seventeen Pedal-Topia riders gathered on Saturday, October 2nd at Southside Riverfront Park in Pittsburgh’s southside neighborhood to pedal for a purpose and ride for the climate. The team rode to Kennywood Amusement Park and back covering a total of roughly 17 miles.
Riders of all ages joined from across the region including folks from Washington county, students from Duquesne University, Allderdice High School, and our youngest riders, Oliver and Will, ages 8 and 5!
Award Ceremony Recap
After the ride Pedal-Topia participants joined additional guests for an after-party in recognition of Pittsburgh Youth for Climate Action, a youth-led climate action group, at DoubleWide Grill on East Carson Street. We refueled, told stories, and learned more about how important it is for youth to have opportunities to take action on climate change. Malcolm Kurtz, a Pittsburgh Youth for Climate Action student, was present to accept an award on behalf of the group.
Due to the generosity of the riders and additional donors, the event raised $1,820.00 to further climate change education for youth in the Pittsburgh region! We thank each of the participants and donors for their generosity. We had such a great time we can’t wait to do it again next year!
