Presenter: Sewickley Academy Administration Climate Change Resolution Proposal
Alejandra has been learning and leading with Communitopia since the fall of 2020, when she participated in Communitopia’s Award-Winning Climate Change Makers Workshop series at her school. In the spring of 2021, she decided to join up with other dedicated classmates to form the Sewickley Academy Climate Action Team. In May of 2021, the team met with administrators and educators at Sewickley Academy to propose a collaboration to pass a Climate Change Resolution.
Along her journey, she has grown her confidence in expressing her opinions and making her voice heard. Alejandra also notes that her work with Communitopia has helped her realize that she really can take action on climate change and that there are other youths just like her who care about climate change as much as she does. When she isn’t sharpening her persuasive writing skills for the climate, she loves dancing and listening to music.
