Founding Member: Carmalt Climate Action Team
Donovan is one of our most recent youth leaders to team up with Communitopia. After participating in Communitopia’s Climate Change Makers Workshops at his school, he decided to take his passion for climate action a step further to become a founding member of the Carmalt Climate Action Team.
One of Donovan’s biggest takeaways from working with Communitopia is that carbon emissions come from so many more sources than he originally thought. Equipped with new knowledge from Communitopia’s workshops, he is eager to continue to learn about the complex issue of climate change in Pittsburgh.
In the fall, along with a few other dedicated students at Carmalt, he intends to serve as a leader within his school in getting the work of the Carmalt Climate Action Team off the ground and recruiting more students to join in learning and taking action.
