Hello Teachers!

As you jump back into another school year that continues to throw challenges your way, remember: we see the support, knowledge, and empowerment that you give your students, their families, and your communities. We are so proud to continue our work with you this year.

Although climate change is still not a required standards-based topic in most PA schools, many of us and many of your students are becoming more and more aware of how climate change is impacting us. Global headlines focused on intense wildfires, unprecedented ‘heat domes,’ and drought, flood media channels. Locally, many are noticing more summer days over 90 degrees and more frequent and intense thunderstorms. Extreme weather events are becoming more common due to climate change, and they don't impact everyone the same. As educators, we have the tools to empower our students to understand the impacts and to create solutions to extreme rain, heat, and inequalities amplified by climate change. Keep reading for tips, inspiration, and resources around introducing this important topic to your students.

My best,
